My Eyebrow Tattoo Experience

Hi guys! So a few of you might know that I got my eyebrows tattooed on yesterday, especially if you've been following me on Twitter @blushingblonde_ . I had my eyebrows done by the lovely Olena Oliynyk at the Luxury Permanent Makeup clinic in Dublin. Olena is a wonder woman at what she does and made my whole experience exciting and also comfortable. For more information about eyebrow tattooing and other permanent makeup procedures that Olena offers visit her website www.luxurypermanentmakeup.ie

I made the decision to get my eyebrows tattooed on about two years ago, but I didn't just want to go to the first place I looked up or heard off. I emailed many places but was never 100% sure that it was the place for me. I have been 'drawing' on my brows for nearly 10 years, I always had very platinum blonde eyebrows and although I loved been able to change up the shapes of my brows and play around with them when I had time, I missed going swimming as I was so conscious and I was fed up of uneven eyebrows when I was hurrying to put them on.

I contacted Olena by email about a month ago asking the usual questions I asked everyone I had contacted, I found Olena to be really helpful in explaining what would be the ideal technique for my skin type and what I wanted to achieve. As I've oily/combo skin Olena explained the hair stroke technique wouldn't be suitable as they could heal blurred and that the powder technique would be most suitable. On the day of the procedure, I had to read and sign a 3 page consent form, once I had completed that, Olena started to clean around my eyebrows and then started to measure them up. Olena was so thorough doing this, she checked the markings she had made from all angles and made me make different facial expressions. Once she was happy, she got me to check my eyebrows for myself and told me to take my time and make any facial expression I could think of. Once I was satisfied with the shape she had drawn on it was time to get started.

So the first thing she had to do was to decide on the colour that would best suit my skin tone, she picked out the colour 'Walnut' based on my skin tone and my cool blue eye colour. Then she started to cut into the eyebrow with a tiny needle, this kinda felt like eyebrow threading to me, it was a little pinchy in places and made my eyes water, but Olena checked how I was doing the entire time. Once this was done she put numbing cream on my brows. She then went in with the colour and started to apply it slightly deeper into the skin than the pervious cutting that she did, as she applied numbing cream it was painless for the first minute or two then slowly I could start to feel what she was doing but it wasn't extremely painful. She kept topping up my brows with numbing cream until she had finished the whole process. During the entire time she kept chatting to me and making sure I was ok.

Once done she gave me a mirror to check my new eyebrows out and to be honest I'm thrilled with them. She done such an incredible job creating brows on me. To finish off, she gave me a gel cream and showed me how to take care of them for that evening. As I only had to use the gel cream every hour to clean any residue off my brows until I went to bed that evening. She answered any other questions I had regarding what to do and what not to do, and I made my top up appointment there and then for the end of November.

It took from 11am til 1.40pm for the whole process. I felt very confident in Olena as she never rushed any part of the procedure at all. I seriously can't wait til my brows are fully healed and I can really show them off and I'm even more excited that I'll no longer have to spend anything from 20-60 minutes everyday trying to get my eyebrows even! I can't say enough good things about Olena, she's a wizard in my opinion. If you're thinking or know someone who'd love to get their brows done then 110% check out her website or email her direct at pmubyolena@gmail.com. The cost of the eyebrow tattooing was €250* and then the top up is another €100*. Which I personally think is incredible for the work that she does.
